Pomona-The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a 4-month-old child take from her mother in Pomona. 24-year-old Ashley Cavender reported that the child was taken by her boyfriend, 40-year-old Dustin Markus of Ottawa.
Upon investigation, it was found that Markus had threatened Cavender with a knife as he took the infant from the residence. The child has been located, safe, at a family members house and returned to her mother. Authorities are looking for Markus, who has not been located. Charges against him for aggravated kidnapping, aggravated child endangerment, aggravated assault, domestic battery, and violation of a protection from abuse order are pending.
