Some dark runways at Ottawa Municipal Airport are about to see the lights. Ottawa Public Works director Michael Haeffele says the taxiway will be upgraded. He said it was one of the top projects from the airport capital improvement plan. Pending approval from the FFA, the project is scheduled for this year. Bids for the lighting came in under estimates engineers gave them. Total cost of the lighting will be nearly 300 thousand dollars with the city matching just over 29 thousand dollars
The measure is expected to be approved at the regular Ottawa City Commission Wednesday night.
