OTTAWA- Ottawa will have a fireworks show to celebrate the Fourth of July…just not on the fourth. The City of Ottawa announced they have engaged Steve Donohoo, a very experienced shooter that carries all the necessary training and insurance to put on a show.
The City stresses that they have never been the owner or operator of the fireworks display in any capacity. It has always been privately run and the City of Ottawa has contributed a small portion of funds each year for the display and the rest has been raised by private parties.
The fireworks show this year will be on July 1st. The City realizes that this celebration is important to our community and will continue to see if there are person(s)/groups interested in leading this annual event.
According to multiple Facebook postings, more than one group is already working on donations for this year’s event and organizing the show for next year. Kofo will keep you posted as details become available.
