OTTAWA- Kansas Governor Jeff Colyer stopped in Ottawa Monday on his whirlwind tour of all 105 counties in Kansas. He has been accused of being too soft in dealing with the Kansas Supreme Court on school funding. He responded by saying the money will be stair stepped in over 5 years so the school districts can absorb it properly. He also says he put accountability measures in so they would know where the money is going. He wants the money to be in the classroom. He added that it important to be optimistic about the future if problems are to get solved.
