The replacement of water lines in Downtown Ottawa has been delayed. Assistant Utilities Director David Buehler says the delay is due to the contractor not being able to find American made materials.
He says that most stainless steel products are purchased outside of the United States as there are very few manufacturers left in the U.S. Supplies and equipment have been brought in and they may start some pavement sawing soon. The new date to begin putting in pipe is August 6th.
