The City of Ottawa will apply for a grant for what is called a transportation alternative program. Ottawa Community Development Director Wyndee Lee says it will make K-68 safer.
If approved, the grant would call for Ottawa to pay 20 percent of the cost with the state paying 80 percent. The project would cost almost half a million dollars and would likely not see construction until 2020.
