Ottawa has another brand new recreation option and the ribbon cutting on it is today. The city of Ottawa has completed a new disc golf course in Forest Park. The ribbon cutting ceremony will be held this afternoon at 5 at Forest Park. Local officials along with representatives from the Ottawa Recreation Commission will be on hand to officially open the new course.
Disc golf is a growing activity among all ages and Ottawa is blessed to have two courses. The course in Kanza Park is more open and offers longer distances, while the new one in Forest Park may offer some challenges with shorter holes and obstacles. The new course also has removable netting so it can be taken down when large events such as the Ol’ Marias River Run Car Show take place. The ribbon cutting will take place this afternoon at 5.
