Humans were not meant to be solitary creatures.  We need social interaction with others to stay happy and healthy.  There are many benefits of staying social as you age.  Marias Des Cygnes Extension Agent Cathy Goul says the health benefits are most important.

She adds that socialization also reduces the risk of mental health issues such as depression, better brain function, and an overall happier, healthier, longer life.
