The City of Wellsville is growing and city officials have asked the Franklin County Commission for assistance in improving the roads in a specific area. Keim Trucking is building a truck stop and trucking school at K-33 and Stafford Road. Wellsville City Engineer Mike Brungart says the road needs improvement to handle the increased truck traffic expected along the road.
Franklin County Administrator Derek Brown says this development is similar to the one Ottawa faced in putting together Proximity Park. Commissioners were all for helping with the cost but want to explore the different options available to pay for it. Estimated costs would be about 650 thousand dollars. Things are moving fast, Keim would like to begin construction in early spring. Wellsville City officials will do further research and present to the commission again soon.
