The Franklin County Health Department will conduct door to door surveys throughout Franklin County during the month of October and early November. The purpose of the survey is to better understand the health needs of the county’s residents. Director Midge Ransom says the household addresses have been randomly pre-selected to make sure the survey reaches a variety of neighborhoods and population. The survey will be interview-style, including questions about residents’ health and the environment, and it will take about 15 to 20 minutes. The information collected will not include residents’ names.
The volunteers will be easy to recognize, they will be wearing bright orange or lime green t-shirts and display name tags that indicate they are with the health department. Ransom adds that the surveys will reveal a better understanding of the specific needs in our community.
