The Ottawa Police Foundation has received a $20,000 donation from the Arvest Foundation.  The money will be used for several different things.  First, two new, fully equipped bicycles to the double bike fleet. These will be especially useful for special events and to patrol the trail system.  Also, the foundation will purchase utility terrain vehicles, which the department can use for multiple purposes.  Finally, the Police Foundation will purchase 6 new canoes and a trailer for use at D.A.R.E. Camp.

Ottawa Police Cheif Dennis Butler says the gift us the largest ever received by the foundation, and they work hard to provide the best possible service to the community.  Public and Private Partnerships like this allow the OPD to of it even better.
