The sales tax on food came up repeatedly during a candidate forum last night at Ottawa Middle School. Lassey Murphy of Lane is a Democrat running for the 5th District seat in the Kansas House of Representatives. Murphy says Kansas has a distinction that no one should want.
Murphy says the way to bring in more money for state government is by encouraging the growth of business and agriculture.
