School these days is not all about reading writing and arithmetic. Kids these days need more. The Ottawa elementary schools have started a new program aimed at teaching life skills to students. It’s called “Well Managed Schools” and it is through Boys Town. Sunflower Elementary Principal Shannon Fanning says businesses are asking for kids with basic life skills.
She says to greet others, following instructions and learning to accept no as an answer are some of the skills they are teaching. They want all students to be successful well-rounded citizens.
