The Ottawa Fire Department is applying for a federal grant to help pay for updating air packs. Ottawa Fire Chief Tim Matthias says that the grant is aimed toward helping all the area fire departments.
The grant consists of the federal government paying about 90 percent of the nearly million-dollar price tag. Ottawa’s share of the expense would total almost 98 thousand dollars.
