The Ottawa City Planning Commission has been tasked with the issue to come up with regulations and code in regard to group homes, homeless housing, and the establishment of temporary transitional housing. One question concerning commissioners is where the housing would be located and how to regulate it. City Planner Sarah Anzicek outlined what they are trying to do.
After much discussion, commissioners asked her to provide some additional research involving what other communities have done and how they regulate such facilities.
