Halloween was a busy night for Osawatomie firefighters. They battled an internationally set fore in the 400 block of Fourth Street. Crews responded to the call shortly before 8 in a vacation house that was being gutted for remodeling. Osawatomie Fire Chief Brian Love says the fire caused an estimated 25 thousand dollars in damage to the home plus an additional 5 thousand dollars damage to the home next door.
One firefighter was treated at an area hospital for dehydration and released. Love says the fire has been determined to be arson and that the State Fire Marshal’s Office and the Osawatomie Police Department are investigating.
