The fire that damaged a home last weekend November 3rd and 4th east of Garnett has been officially listed as incendiary, meaning that the fire was intentionally set. Anderson County Fire Cheif Mick Brinkmeyer says the fire that damaged the home of Carl Maley was contained to the kitchen and utility room but there was heavy smoke and water damage to the rest of the home. He said that when crews arrived at the scene, smoke was heavy and flames could be seen in the south-east part of the home. According to the Anderson County Review, Anderson County Sheriff Vern Valentines says there are no solid suspects, however, they are looking for a person of interest. That person was seen in the area the afternoon of the fire searching for a ride to Olathe. No injuries were reported in the blaze and Valintine indicated that the fire was still under investigation.
