Would you like to donate to U.S. troops this holiday season, maybe in a way you haven’t thought about before? Memory Lane will be accepting donations of Christmas trees for the Trees for Troops program. Trees for Troops is a program where Christmas tree growers donate Christmas trees. The trees will be collected at pickup points in each participating state where they will be loaded into a FedEx truck. Memory Lane Owner Harry Peckham has more.
The trees will be distributed to military families on those bases. Over 16,000 Christmas trees will be donated this year. Memory Lane will be collecting Christmas trees from growers in the eastern part of Kansas. They will take those trees to the pickup point in Witchita on November 26. So, when you are picking out your tree this year, pick two, and donate the other to Trees for Troops.
