Governor Jeff Coyler has issued a state of disaster emergency declaration for the state in response to the winter storm that moved across Kansas. The declaration authorizes the use of state resources and personnel to assist with response and recovery operations in affected counties.
Due to concerns regarding the winter storm, Governor Coyler has, also, ordered a delayed start time for non-essential state employees in Shawnee County this morning. Employees are to report at 10. This will give crews time to clear streets and sidewalks in the area. State office will be open to the public at 10.
