Ottawa and Franklin County has an attractive site in Proximity Park, but right now the people are lacking. That blunt message has been delivered to local elected leaders by the President of KC Smartport, an economic development agency based in Kansas City. Chris Gutierrez says there have been recent inquiries about Proximity Park, but there is one problem that keeps coming up.
Gutierrez praised local officials for implementing programs in high school and colleges aimed at preparing students for jobs. He says to attract the industry you want, “faster, faster, faster,” should be the motto.
