The news of the Franklin County Sheriff investigating a cold case homicide recently has brought to light another cold case. Tawanya Knight , murdered on this day in 1996. 15 years old, she went to a sleep over one night and never came home. Her remains were found in a field, 6 months later in Spring Hill. Her mom, Lori Aubry Knight, a class of 1977 graduate of Ottawa High School says the case stayed cold for years until they hired a privater investigator about a year ago…

Ironically, Aubry’s close friend growing up all through high school, Tonie Standley, was murdered 10 years ago to the day after Tawanya disappeared. Her case is one of the cold cases here in Franklin County.
