Ottawa saw it’s heaviest snow fall in quite some time over the weekend. And as its progressed, the heavy wet snow caused limbs to snap and power lines to snap with them. City utility crews worked very hard to get power restored as quickly as possible. City manager Richard Nienstedt encourages people to be patient and let them do their work.

He adds that people need to have a contingency plan for the next storm, which could be coming in this weekend. Know where you can go to stay warm if your power does go out and have plenty of extra clothes and blankets on hand if you do decide to at home.
