The issue of student social clubs at Ottawa Middle School once again occupied a portion of the Ottawa school board meeting. During the December board meeting, several parents and other patrons had complained about allowing clubs during school time, especially LGBT clubs. School Superintendent Doctor Ryan Cobbs noted he had asked for a legal opinion on what kinds of clubs can be allowed.
Middle school Principal Charley Stoltenberg says he is getting input from all parties before deciding how to proceed with student social clubs.
