Investigators will be sifting through what’s left of Pinnacle Component this morning, Saturday January 26, a truss manufacturing company on East Wilson in Northeast Ottawa to try to determine the cause of a fire that destroyed one of its buildings. The call came in just after 7 Friday evening and while firefighters were responding they reported they could see smoke and flames from the K-68 overpass. Once at the scene firefighters reported heavy fire venting through the roof and heavy fire and smoke throughout the building. The fire was fought from the exterior due to the amount of fire and the condition of the building as a result of the fire. Crews are still at the scene extinguishing hot spots.

The Ottawa Fire Department and the State Fire Marshal’s Office will begin investigating the cause of the fire Saturday morning. There were no injuries while fighting the fire. The Ottawa Fire Department was assisted by the Lincoln-Ottawa-Harrison Township Fire Department, Ottawa Police Department, Franklin County Emergency Medical Services, The Ottawa Public Works Department, and the Ottawa Utility Department.

The Ottawa Fire Department requests you stay away from the scene because of the limited accessibility. Pictures of last night’s fire and this morning’s aftermath can be found on the KOFO Facebook page.
