An Ottawa man has been sentenced on charges related to an incident in late May of last year. Justin Donovan was sentenced to 49 months in prison for possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, 16 months on a felony theft charge and 14 months on felony fleeing and eluding. Donovan had been under surveillance for stealing a vehicle and was first spotted on May 23rd at a residence in the 400 block of west 2nd street. The car and other stolen items were recovered at the scene but Donovan eluded arrest. The next day, Donovan stole a vehicle left running at Casey’s General Store and headed north. An officer with the Wellsville Police Department spotted the vehicle on I-35 and the chase led them to Johnson County where tire deflation devices were used to stop it, but Donovan fled on foot and eluded capture. He was taken into custody the next day in a standoff at the same residence.
