Fire crews from Osawatomie, Louisburg and Johnson County fire district number 2 assisted the Paola Fire Department in battling a warehouse fire yesterday morning February the 15th. Firefighter’s were called to the scene at Iron and Wea streets before 8 yesterday morning and the building was fully engulfed with flames. According to the Miami County Republic, Captain Joe Flake of the Paola Fire Department says crews took a defensive position to prevent the fire from spreading to other businesses toward the front of the building. He says it took about 20 minutes to get the fire under control. Flake says he believes the building is a total loss and the cause is under investigation.
