Ottawa public works crews are still working hard to collect limbs from the latest winter weather event. The process has taken a lot longer with the snow storms we have had. Larger trees that have fallen require different equipment to remove compared to loose branches. Because of this, they have taken longer to be removed. As time and weather permits efforts will continue to get it all removed. Reminder: collections cannot be made in alleys due to space limitations. The city also has a free collection site for citizens to haul their own brush/limbs at the intersection of North Cherry and Enterprise road. No items such as furniture, tires and trash are accepted. A sign posted at the collection site for what is acceptable. If you feel for your residence has been missed, give them a call at 785-229-3630 or email public works at Ottawa K-S dot gov.
