As the beginning of severe weather season draws near, the Kansas division of Emergency Management is reminding all Kansans to be prepared. The National Weather Service will hold a severe weather storm spotter class tonight, Thursday March 7th at the Ottawa Memorial Auditorium. Presentation will be about 90 minutes long and will focus on severe storm safety, preparedness, and awareness in addition to accurate identification of storm features. Those attending will be provided contact information for the National Weather Service and are encouraged to report severe weather once it is safe to do so. It will start at 7. Osage County spotter training will be March 14th, at the Schuyler Community Center at 218 Fremont in Burlingame. Douglas County will hold their classes March 20th at the Lawrence Public Library. All classes start at 7.
