The Ottawa school board took action on several matters related to playgrounds and the Garfield pre-K addition. For months the board was wrangled over the cost… With some wanting to go out for bids but the majority not going along with that. One board member who has wanted to go out for bids on various projects is Harold Wingert… And at one point he got a slight rebuke from Linda Alderman.
The board approved several playground renovations, with board members Harold Wingert and Chris Cunningham voting no in most cases… They have stated they believe the playground equipment could have been purchased at a lower cost.
