After enduring some opposition, a rural Pomona man has the go-ahead to set up a youth missionary camp on his property. Cecil Carder and crowd of interested parties appeared before the Franklin County Commission this morning to speak about special use permit for the camp. Carder’s neighbors apparently were against the permit and Carder expressed his frustration.

Several neighbors had expressed concern about increasing traffic and various safety issues. Carder says no more than six youths would be at the camp at any one time. The county commission voted four to one to approve the permit, Roy Dunn was the lone vote in opposition to the permit.
