Eckan executive director Richard Jackson will soon be retiring after 50 years fighting of poverty. A reception to honor his achievements was held at City Hall with well over a hundred community leaders from all categories in attendance. In brief remarks, Jackson urged people to remember the other guy.
Other officials paid tribute to Jackson for greatly increasing the level of volunteerism in Ottawa and the whole region served by Eckan.
