The Kansas Department of transportation division of aviation has announced 5 million dollars will be awarded to 41 different projects for planning, constructing or rehabilitating public use general aviation airports. Two of those are local projects. The Garnett Airport will receive $40,500 to help with runway seal and repair of high severity cracks.
Ottawa Public Works Director Michael Haeffle says, “Ottawa actually received two grants.”
The Ottawa Municipal Airport will receive $173,250.00 for payment preservation on parallel and connection taxiway system.
