As the rains have left up the past few days, the water levels at Pomona and Melvern Lakes have stabilized. However, operations project manager Scott Rice says, “He expects that to change if the forecasted rain comes through.”
Melvern is full as of this morning at 4. It set at 1055.59 feet, that is above the spillway crest of 1057 feet. Pomona is at 1001.78, still over 4 feet below the spillway crest. Rice says, “The two lakes can not release water until Truman Lake can reduce their elevation, which means that the flooding in the areas around the lakes is going to continue.”
