The heavy rains the past few weeks have prevented farmers from getting into the fields to plant corn. With very few fields planted, many farmers face the reality that their corn may not get in the ground. The because of this, and an approaching deadline for insurance claims, a preventive planting meeting has been called. Frontier Extension District agent Darren Hibon says, “There will be many topics covered.”

He added, “The last few days, some farmers in the county have been able to get in the fields, but the storms that moved through over the weekend, made many in the northeast part of the county unable to start. The meeting will be tomorrow night at 7p.m. at the Overbrook sale barn. For more information call the extension office.
