A disturbing case of domestic violence in Miami County. Officers were dispatched to the Paola Police Department lobby in reference to a woman wanting to report a battery. They found the woman to have extensive bruising and lacerations all over her body. An investigation revealed that a severe domestic violence incident had taken place. It began Monday evening. The victim reported being physically injured as well as being threatened with multiple firearms. She was able to escape the residence Tuesday morning and seek help from family and police. A suspect has been arrested and identified as 46-year-old Terrence Jackson of Paola. He was taken into custody without incident and is in the Miami County jail awaiting formal charges through Miami County Attorney’s Office. The case is still under investigation. KOFO has confirmed that the victim is from Ottawa and recently moved to Paola.
