Ottawans have an opportunity to participate in what is dubbed the worlds largest swimming lesson next week. Drowning is the second leading cause of accidental death for kids age 1-14 in the united states. Ottawa recreation commission Brandon Stortz says, “The lesson has one goal.”
It’s estimated that 88 percent of those who have organized swimming lessons are more likely to survive a water-related incident. The event will be held Thursday afternoon at the Forest Park swimming pool from one till two. It is free and open to the public.
