The Ottawa Main Street association asked the city commission about funding the organization through the end of the year. The association had come under scrutiny about how they were spending city funds. Recently, Main Street presented the city with more detailed financial information, which commissioners say, “Satisfied their questions.” Commissioner Sara Caylor proposed the city continue with funding for Main Street with one understanding.
City manager Richard Nienstedt says, “He will make recommendations for budget cuts at tomorrows meeting and commission placed the Main Street funding issue on tomorrows agenda as well.”
