The Ottawa Fire Department is offering a fire education program to families in Ottawa. The program is called “Sound off with home fire safety” originally designed for a select school in Kansas, Lincoln Elementary school was selected to have their second grades go through the program and have their families homes inspected and provided with new fire alarms. Lincoln Principal Austen Entress says, “Everyone needs to be concerned.”
Only three cities in Kansas were selected to run the program, such as Ottawa, Emporia< and Junction City. To sign-up for the program and schedule a visit to your home, call the Ottawa Fire Department and ask about the “Sound Off” program.
