If you have a spouse working for the same company that you do, is that a conflict of interest? It depends on who asks apparently the Kansas Association of School Boards believes a school band member should not have a spouse working for the same district school superintendent Doctor Ryan Cobbs says the K-A-S-B policy is not workable for Ottawa.
Cobbs says, “It’s course important that board members avoid voting on matters directly affecting their spouse such an example would be the school board member voting on whether to extend the contract of his or her spouse who happens to be a teacher in the same district. In such a case the board members need to excuse himself from the vote.”
