A project started by Loma Vista nursery last summer became the legacy of their interns would leave in Ottawa. The interns, Mallory Unvertferhrt from Murry State, Caitlyn Bond from Missouri, and Renata Goossen from Kansas State designed, created and planted the entire landscape project in the beds in the front of the old depo museum. It started by clearing the beds and then working through some other issues.  Intern Mallory Unverfehrt says, “They worked together.”

Each bed now has a dwarf lilac at the canter with rose bunches on each side. Other flowers were added to attract butterflies and bees and a lot of colors. Loma Vista also recently donated and assisted in the landscaping at Prairie Paws and will donate all the landscaping at Legacy Square.
