A new exhibit at the old depot museum will open your imagination, or, may have already. “Out of the box: Franklin County at Play” is an exhibit of homemade toys, factory toys and others that taught us how to play well with others and taught us skills we would need as adults. It will feature 150 years of toys played with by Franklin County children. Dolls, skates, guns, board games, and even cracker jack toys. Franklin County historical Director Diane Starcinic Dean says, “With so many to choose from, we decided to focus on toys that we knew the history of and that may have had a story behind them.”
The exhibit will open today and what a way to open then with a big bunch of kids, as the Ottawa Library will host storytime at the old depot today.
