The Franklin County Historical Society held a program featuring wedding dresses from the past. Called “Something Old: Franklin County Wedding Dresses”, The event drew nearly 100 people to the Carnegie Culture Center. Franklin County Historical Society Director Diana Starcinic Dean says, “Over $1,700 was raised to put toward materials and staff time to train them how to care for textiles.” There was something extra special about the function.”
She adds, “The staff was able to get the dresses into the center safely, just before a huge rainstorm. There are plans in the works to feature other clothing from bygone eras.”
