An Ottawa man has been sentenced to serve nearly 5 years in prison after being convicted in Franklin County District Court Monday of sexual exploitation of a child. 21-year-old Jean Luc Morris received the sentence after being arrested January 10th on a probable cause warrant for electronic solicitation of a child between the ages of 14 and 16 and sexual exploitation of a child.
Judge Douglas Witteman also recommended that Morris have no contact with the victim and obtain a sexual offender evaluation and follow all the offender evaluation and follow all the recommendations of that evaluation as part of his sentence. He will be required to register as a sex offender for 25 years and be subject to lifetime parole with electronic monitoring upon release. Franklin County Attorney Brandon Jones thanked the Ottawa Police Department for their hard work investigating the case.
