Curriculum development has taken center stage in the USD 290 School District. It’s been some time since the district has really set up a coordinated plan of the curriculum throughout the entire district. Superintendent Doctor Ryan Cobbs says, “Both teachers and administrators have set expectations of what they want to see in each classroom. They established four categories: Developing, Non-effective, Effective, and Highly effective.” Cobbs says, “It’s all about what’s best for the kids.”

The goal is to have every teacher in at least the effective category. Both teachers and administrators developed and evaluated the program and will present it to the school board at the meeting on Monday night.
