It appears an electric rate hike is in your near future. During the Ottawa commission study session, utilities director Dennis Tharp noted an immediate hike of double digits is needed.
Tharp says the electric fund had been losing money for several years, and a rate hike has not occurred in 10 years or more. The city commission will discuss the proposed rate hike at todays study session that will be at 4 at City Hall.
