As the school year approaches, you may hear some ask, are cell phones more important than school? You’ll probably get all kinds of answers on that question, but Ottawa school superintendent Doctor Ryan Cobbs has an opinion. At the first Friday Forum, he noted that for students, personal possessions are important, and sometimes their education suffers.

Cobbs says, “Students often don’t consider the school as important as older generations. It means school shave to change their way of grading and doing other things if students are to be taught the necessary skills for a successful life.”
