The water situation in Rantoul is being corrected. Officials from the Kansas Department of Health and environment informed lane on Friday that traces of e-coli bacteria had been detected in well one and well two. The city of Rantoul immediately began following recommendations. Rantoul City Clerk Marie Satterlee says, “They are monitoring the situation carefully.”
She adds, “The wells are being shocked with chlorine to eliminate the bacteria, and that while this process is going on, Rantoul will be using rural water for it’s drinking water.”
