The flash flood of three weeks ago that flooded part of North Ottawa was certainly on the minds of people who attended a floodplain mapping open house at the Franklin County Annex. Several local state and federal officials were on hand to give information. Brian Rast with the Army Corps of Engineers noted that his agency started gathering information right after the flood.
Rast says, “A study is underway to see if anything around the LEvee needs to be changed or upgraded to deal with a similar flood should it occur.”
