Ottawa city officials are debating how fast electric rates should go up…but one thing is for sure. They are on the increase. Ottawa utilities director Dennis Tharp says the electric department simply must charge more.
Tharp is asking for a 10% increase effective October first with another 5% hike in January. The city commission plans more discussion with a decision expected at it’s September 18th meeting.
