As the flood waters from the recent rains have receded and the rivers slowly lower, officials at Lake Pomona have increased the discharge rate from the lake. Park Ranger Erik Patterson says the discharge rate has been increased to 2000 cubit feet per second as of yesterday morning. Officials reduced the rate to a mere trickle early last week due to the heavy rains which brought the river levels up to flood stage in some area. Officials at the lake are still trying to get the lake level down to it’s normal level. After repeated heavy rainstorms this spring and summer led to flooding. Some areas of the lake just reopened this past weekend after being closed for most of the summer due to high water.
